The Town of Denning has experienced a rash of street sign disappearances and Superintendent Van Saders is asking for anyone seen taking signs to report it to his attention, or the local police.
The impact of this activity can cause a delay in 911 responders to people’s addresses. Especially the recent fires that other Towns may have to respond to. Signs cannot be ordered overnight. Recent roads that have been missing Coons/Dinch (2 times) Spencer, Dymond Rd, Wild Meadow road. & Porcupine Rd. (vandalized)
If someone wants the name so badly they can easily order signs on e-bay and feel good about putting them up where ever they put them. Sooner or later someone is going to see them hanging in a garage and say “where did you get that”? Can you really feel good about stealing them?
We now have to spend more money on signs, as well as getting specialized brackets to deter theft. But the culprit(s) may have to smile on a trail cam next time.
Dan Van Saders,
